No, you should buy it in 2024. Vita is an incredible homebrew machine. Yes, buy it with a sd2vita card and a 256gb micro SD card. vita has some unofficial ps2 ports of some games but it can’t play actual ps2 games. I’d still say it’s worth it though if you have the money and are willing to mod it.
Look at which games are available now and look at which games are confirmed to be released in the future. See enough that interests you? Buy a Vita. Don't see enough? Don't buy one. It is very likely that the Vita doesn't have a lot of life left in the west but existing games won't disappear. Research the library, that's what should matter.
Dec 1, 2023 · I came to the Vita from the PSP and have found the emullation for NES and Genesis to be simpler and easier on NesterJ and PicoDrive in Adrenaline. The only reason I use RetroArch is to play SNES games, which I found out recently was a better experience than any of the PSP emulators or the native Vita emulator.
